In 2008 the Year 9 expedition is back, hiking along the Walsh River Gorge (our backyard!). This report is from a previous expedition and is typical of the activities of the week. "After some initial training at a supporter's property we then spent the next 5 days hiking along and camping beside the wonderful wilderness of the Walsh River. The rough and remote nature of the terrain meant that we had to work hard to stay together as we crossed and recrossed the river many times. Expeditioners also had time to explore a number of historical ruins, gaining a new found respect for the resilience of the pioneers and miners who battled to live and work in this hard country. The experience of just walking through this country certainly changed the way expeditioners thought about what they take for granted in their everyday lives".
