Starting off at a new school is always an exciting time (sometimes a bit scary though). To help the new Year 8s get to know and appreciate each other and some of the staff we head off to Koombooloomba and the Misty Mountains for five days of exploration and adventure.
In 2007 this expedition was delayed by wet weather and it looks like 2008 is the same. After a time coping with living in the bush we better appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of our surroundings and the luxury of our own bed at home.
Last year there was a great deal of playing and swimming over the week and everyone went home exhausted but happy for the adventures the week contained. It was also a great way for Year 8 teachers to get to know their new charges.
Developing positive relationships between our young people and the teaching staff is a central foundation to the Expedition Program.
